Light Project
Photoshop
1.) I took this photo about 30 minutes before the sunset. It was very bright that day which gave the photo lots of detail and shadow.
2.) The light in my photograph was to the right of the photo coming from the upper right corner. The sun is the supplier of light in this photo.
3.) The composition of these photos is lots of structure through the rocks with the trees in the background giving the pictures more detail.
4.) Slight shadows accompanied the light in the cracks and crevices of the rock giving it more structure.
5.) The light in my composition gives the picture a calm and relaxing mood showing that the sun is going to set.

Class Photos
Color Outside of Class
Image 1: Orange and Blue are complementary colors. They are directly across from each other on the color wheel.
Image 2: Red and Green are two complementary colors. They are also directly across from each other on the color wheel.
Image 3: The Red and the Brown/Orange Colors are somewhat the same in the sense that they go together. I like what it does to the image and that the green in the back is very dull but visible.

Mirror
- Heisenberg's Magic Mirror of uncertainty mainly inspired my photos because as you can see for example in the mirror image with the magenta flowers, the background is so bland but when you take a look in the mirror it seems like a whole other world through the mirror.
- Most of the locations and settings for my photos were at Somerset Berkley Regional High School. A majority of these pictures are inside despite the praying mantis and flower picture which were taken outside in the courtyard of SBRHS.
- For most of the picture lie the picture of Julia and the picture of the skull drawing, I tried to get the mirror at a slight angle so i can catch another side of the person of portrait i am displaying. Other pictures such as the praying mantis and the very last picture are more straight forward shots that direct your attention to one specific part of the photo. In the very last picture, the direction is pointed towards Jake's eye but if you look around you can see the photographer slightly mixed into the cracked mirror. The praying mantis is probably my favorite picture. It is a perfect reflection of the front and the back on the insect not only showing a cool mirror image but also showing us the face and more characteristics of the insect.
- What was very unexpecting was the angle at which I took the picture of the praying mantis. It looks as if it's more than one mantis and they are just holding onto each other. But really it is only 1 insect.
- My setting is a school for the majority of the project. When people think of school they don't think of insects, beautiful flowers, or beautiful drawings. They just think of learning. This shows that there is some type of beauty behind every school that contrasts with the environment people typically think it is.
- My photos were a mix of things. Serious, bright, beautiful, and unexpected. There are so many different colors being portrayed in these pictures giving them life. Some unexpected pictures are the ones that were taken in the courtyard. I did not expect to get the correct angles and for the picture to look perfect but with a little patience it came out amazing.
- My reflection photos show that there is still beauty in the world, you may just have to look at it from a different perspective to actually see it. (the flower mirror image was very bland until the beautiful flowers were introduced.)
- I was able to blur the line between illusion and reality with one specific image. The praying mantis. Again, it gives the illusion that there are 2 insects but in reality there is only 1.

Cyanotype
Steps:
1. We used light sensitive cyanotype solution to make the cyanotypes.
2. Then we created a negative by inverting our image in photoshop.
3. We then used the sunlight to stain our image onto the paper for roughly 10 minutes of exposure.
4. When we brought our images inside we soaked them in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water to make the image more vibrant.
